Berry producers in Coffs Harbour and Tabulam recently discovered cane toads in nursery plant deliveries from Queensland. As an extreme non-native invasive pest, cane toads pose serious threats to native wildlife, ecosystems, and agriculture. NSW remains 98% cane toad-free, but accidental transport via freight, plants, and mulch can spread infestations. Growers should inspect deliveries, report sightings via Feral Scan, and avoid harming potential native frogs.
