ED GEORGE: Product Stewardship Consultant, HortiCycle

Ed combines over 30 years of private sector logistics and business experience with a solid grounding in sustainability fundamentals, to provide a practical lens for addressing key stewardship design, stakeholder engagement, and implementation issues.

Over ten years of involvement in the plastics industry, around fabrication (extrusion, injection moulding & blown film) and recycling, gives Ed a clear understanding of material pathways and possible circular solutions. Developing and operating product stewardship programs in Australia & New Zealand, Ed has built a skillset around source segregation, collection, size reduction, transport, and recycling strategies in these unique markets.

Ed worked on the Plasback (agricultural plastics in Australia and New Zealand) and Paintback product Stewardship Schemes. He is currently consulting to the Dairy Australia silage plastics scheme design, the RMCG Agri plastics stewardship study, and the HortiCycle horticultural plastics stewardship pilot.
