LIZ TE AMO: CEO, Miro

Liz is the CEO of Miro – a Māori grower collective created by 30 Māori iwi, hapu and whanau in 2017 as a pathway to transform their land and create jobs for their people through high-value horticulture. Miro are the largest blueberry substrate growers currently in New Zealand with over 10 orchards across the North Island.

Prior to joining Miro, Liz had an 18-year career with government at New Zealand Trade & Enterprise (NZTE) and the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), and 10 years in the private sector. Qualified in marketing, management and international trade, Liz’s career has been dedicated to growing New Zealand businesses internationally, Māori economic development and regional development. She has lived and worked in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, the USA and Australia.

She is passionate about the place of Māori and horticulture in Aotearoa’s future.
